VIRTUAL 5K RUN
SIGN-UP AND RUN FROM NOW UNTIL MAY 1, 2020
The 7th Annual Run For Respect VIRTUAL 5K RUN is being held in conjunction with the 8th Annual Run For Respect 5K at Pontiac Township High School in Pontiac, Illinois which will be held on April 18. Our high school Peers In Action group and the Life Skills classes have been working with Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools to SPREAD THE WORD:INCLUSION. We want to create a world where all people are treated with RESPECT and we want all of you to help us by RUNNING (or WALKING) in our VIRTUAL RUN! You can signup anytime between now and May 1. You may run at any time. The cost is $20.00 and you will receive a bib and an awesome engraved medal. Please send pictures and/or results to us via email (email@example.com) or on Facebook at Run for Respect Virtual 5K Run. We would especially love to see pictures of a landmark in your community! This is such a great way for us to learn about the world! Last year the students in the Life Skills classes mapped where all of our runners were from and we learned so much about our world. We had runners from ALL FIFTY STATES AND ALL 7 CONTINENTS! We really are hoping for just as great of a turnout this year! We can’t wait to see how you did and map where you are from! All proceeds from the Run For Respect benefit and Pontiac Township High School’s Special Olympics and Peers In Action programs.
- Classroom Teachers! Have your class participate as a part of teaching them about the importance of treating all people with respect. Start with a short lesson about Spread The Word:Inclusion, Respect, or anti-bullying. Then you could do a short walk in the gym or around the track. The cost per group of students is listed below and each student will receive a special Run for Respect Participant Ribbon. (Cost 1 - 10 students = $10.00, 11 - 20 students = $20.00, 21 - 30 students = $25.00, 31 - 50 students = $30.00, 51 - 75 students = $50.00, 76 - 100 students = $75.00)
- Order a Run For Respect T-shirt. Cost is $15.00.
Our mission is to get our message out to as many people worldwide. We want all people to feel respected!
